My printer prints two separate pages when I try to print on both sides using Illustrator.

I have been trying to print a two-sided sheet with Illustrator but I just cannot do it. It prints two separate sheets even when the option print on both sides long edge is clearly selected. I print some word documents the same way and does it without any problem, what's wrong with Illustrator?

Your printer driver isn't interpreting Illustrator Artboards as duplex-able pages. Save a copy as PDF, open in Acrobat (or Reader) and print from there.

It may not be Illustrator, per se, but your printer and/or printer driver that's the culprit. Please share what computer you're using, what version of Illustrator you have and what printer so we can do a better job of giving you a hand.
