My Toolbar says "the operation cannot complete due to unknown error"

Hi, I'm a macbook pro retina 2016 user (OS catalina)

I never used my Ai before, but when I try to use it, the toolbar is missing. I followed the steps to show the toolbar but it says "The operation cannot complete due to unknown error". Is there any suggestion regarding this issue? thx

I'm using Adobe Illustrator 2018 (23.1.1)

Sorry to hear about your experience. As Monika already mentioned, Adobe Illustrator 2018 does not support macOS Catalina. I'd request you to update your app to the latest version. You may follow this help article(https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html) to do that. Hope it helps.
