Hi, 

I am trying to create some artwork in the style of the Mexican loteria (bingo) cards. I'm very new to illustrator and could use some guidance as to how to create the effect that the background of these cards have. I have attached a few examples. Thank you!!!

The backgrounds were probably made with watercolor on paper.

Photoshop brushes can come close, an in Illustrator you could try the Freeform Gradient.
