Object Size Different Between PCs

Hello,

We have a file we're working on that has a bunch of artboards, objects etc. I open the .ai file on one PC and, for example, one of the objects is 96 inches wide. If I open that same file on another PC, it shows as 9.6 inches wide.

No matter if I download/resave/delete/re-open the 'correct' file, I still have objects as 1/10th their intended, saved-as size.

Any ideas?

Please tell us the size of the document - is that perhaps a large canvas file?

What kind of document is it?

Which versions are those Illustrator applications on your computers?

The size of the doc is 1.3MB

.ai Illustrator file

both PCs using Illustrator 2021

I imagine it's a setting somewhere that's doing this scaling, but I have no clue where or what it could be

Include the size of the document in measurement units rather than disk space.

Just to clarify, the overall document diensions are reported as the same regardless of the PC, but the Properties panel reports different dimensions for the same selected object on different PCs?

Just as experiments…can the dimensions across PCs be made more consistent if you go into Illustrator Preferences/General, and…

  • Toggle the setting for Display Print Size at 100% Zoom.
  • Click Reset Preferences, restart Illustrator, and compare again.

If it’s a problem with how selected object dimensions are reported in Properties or Transform, then the first suggestion shouldn’t make a difference. But if it’s a problem with another preference setting, the second suggestion might make a difference.
