Im in the layer mode PASTE REMEMBERS LAYERS

My problem is:

I have multiple Objects in a Layer called "Montage" but when I copy and paste one the object it always create a New Layer above called "Layer 1" even tho I have the Paste Remembers Layers selected.

NOTE: the object in question was copy and pasted from another file and in this file the Layer name was Layer 1

My question: How can I reset the layer name associated to the object?

Thanks

Seb

I'm not quite sure if I understand your request, but it sounds as if you have to disable the Paste Remembers Layers option.
