Since my illustrator vector image with blurs, blends and transparency won't become pattern I've been trying to rasterize the image in Photoshop and place it in Illustrator to make a pattern swatch from the jpg. But that won't work either. Any ideas?
And then please tell us what you are doing step by step.
Making a pattern frm a pixel image shouldn't be any problem. But if you just copied it from Photoshop, thus creating clipping masks or stuff, it might be. Do check the layers panel.
