Image of my problem is attached. I have no clue how to go about fixing this? I've tried to ungroup so I can delete the exras, but nothing seems to be working. This happened after I clicked on live paint -> make. (Illustrator crashed on me afterwords, so I wasn't able to restore and simply undo)

It is hard to determine from what you have posted what exactly you want. After doing live paint, you need to expand the image and then you can manipulate the vectors. Perhaps it is best to start over and bring the image in again? Or maybe post the image and tell us what you are trying to achieve.
