I am trying to use the crop tool (via pathfinder) to crop everything outside a given artboard (by selecting the grouped artwork and the cropping path, a square) and it is consistently crashing Illustrator about a minute after having begun processing the command.
Attached is a screenshot of the issue after 1 minute of processing as well as how much memory the command is taking. Note, I have no issues with other commands and have never had even the slightest issue with computing speed.

Hi there,
Sorry to hear about your experience. Does it happen while working on a specific file?
Have you tried resetting preferences? If not, please try doing that & let us know if it helps. You may follow instructions below to do that:
**Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and Illustrator will launch with default settings. This way all your old settings will be saved in .old folders and Illustrator will recreate new folders with default settings.
Looking forward to your response.
Regards,
Ashutosh

Hello Ashutosh, |
Thank you for the reply, unfortunately I did not get an email notification for your response so I'm seeing this now for the first time and have since stopped using the crop feature alltogether in favour of a simpler solution (exporting artwork cropping to the artboards dimensions).
Thanks
Jen
