Pathfinder, please select two overlapping paths

So i selected two paths, and they are overlapping but i cant divide them?

This (Intersect) is the only Pathfinder panel function that gives me this result:

Divide function works as expected:

How do i make the intersect function to work?

On the figures, slect those narrow dark brown shapes and Compound Path: Make (Cmd/Ctrl+8).

Now select too the outside shape and apply the Pathfinder: Intersect.
