Pen pressure not working properly in Illustrator on Windows 10 (Surface Pro X )

Whenever i set my calligraphic brush, it never registers correctly; it still draws solid lines. Seems to be an ongoing problem with all illustrator apps on windows 10. Will appreciate any help fixing this issue
