Pen tool curves flattened as series of straight lines when printed in PDF doc

Hi All,

New to Illustrator CC but picking up quickly. Have drawn a four sided shape, using pen tool curves.

When AI file is converted to a PDF format all appears fine on screen.

Unfortunately, the printed paper copy comes out as a series of faceted or straight lines, instead of curves.

(Using a standard HP Envy desktop printer.)

Advice appreciated.

Oooops. That looks like either a general issue with interpreting PostScript. Try printing the file from Acrobat.

Or an issue with flatness. But I haven't seen a printer in at least 20 years that would need a lower flatness setting to reduce complexity.
