Pen tool is lagging- Illustrator CC2020 on macOS Mojave

I'm using AI 2020 on a 2019 27 inch Retina 5k iMac using MacOS Mojave at work, and suddenly the pen tool will lag so far behind where I'm actually clicking.

I don't have this issue on my 2013 Macbook Pro at home at all.

Is there a setting or something that I'm missing that will allow for the pen tool to actually make a point in real time. I'm trying to vectorize a landscape and the pen tool will get 5-10 points behind where I'm actually clicking.

Thanks!

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. I'd recommend resetting preferences once. Please follow instructions given on

https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html#setting_illustrator_preferences

**Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.

If it does not help, try turning off GPU Performance

If it does not help, try turning off GPU Performance under Preferences > Performance.

Let us know how it goes.
