Hi all, can anyone help me with what seems like a probably simple problem?

As of the new update which i did yesterday, I cannot get a file with a transparency into illustrator.

PSD or PNG files with transparent backgrounds convert to solid white backgrounds on import - by either import method- using place , or by dragging  file in.

is there something i need to check or uncheck somewhere?

I've had this problem sporadically in the past but with PNGs but never PSD files.

help! gotta get my work done! any advice?

thanks!

minnow-red.png I managed to get the PSD file to work for me, the PNG still a no-go but I'm guessing it's the same issue.

thanks!

for anyone with this problem...

In photoshop:

Image>Mode>if it says "indexed" switch it to RGB or CMYK

Can you upload one of those PNG or PSD files?

On Mac OS with version 24.2 I can't replicate the issue.
