Everytime I try to use the align tool with the a shape created by the polar grid tool the shape keeps moving to the right when its supposed to be in the center.
When I try to align it to the left it goes to the right...

Thank you for your response, I closed the program and it helped but when I would add the polar grid shape again the problem would persist.

try resetting Illustrator preferences settings.

hey, thank you for the suggestion but that didnt work either... i reset my preferences, rebooted my mac and closed the program and nothing seems to work

Sometimes there are pretty weird aligning behaviours in documents that contain or formerly contained (nested) clipping masks or some other nested constructions. I've seen that many times.
Can you perhaps share a sample Illustrator file with that issue (including some instructions about what to do to reproduce the problem)?
