What image trace settings are best for preventing text from distorting when converting a JPG file to an AI file? There are two files attached. Before.jpg is the snip of the River text before the image trace and the after.jpg file is for the text after the image trace.
I have spent a few hours playing with the image trace settings but can see to get it to convert without distorting.
Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
There are none. For something like this just reset the text and add the effects you need.
Image Trace is of limited capability, and should be reserved as a last resort. For brand integrity to be honored, a logo should never be traced by software. Acquire a proper copy of the original vector artwork, or if absolutely necessary, trace manually, provided you have the skill to do so with a high degree of accuracy.
As Larry explained, there are no "best" settings; text is always best reset as new, live type.
