The problem is that as soon as you rasterize it, it is no longer a vector smart object. If you want to change the color, you don't need to rasterize it, either change the color in Illustrator to the smart object or you could create an adjustment layer to modify the color of the vector smart object (just clip it to the layer so that it only affects that layer). Or you could create a Photoshop smart object of the vector smart object and work there, still have an editable vector smart object, but that would drastically increase your file size. Bottom line, there are 3 work arounds for you to keep the vector smart object and still be able to change the color. Good luck!

How did you create the vector smart object?

And how did you get it into Photoshop?

Hi Pedro,

Sorry to hear about this trouble. When did this start happening? Are there any recent changes made to your system? What is the default application for Illustrator files. Is the issue related to a specific document? If yes, could you please share the document with us? You can upload it to the Creative Cloud (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/share.html) and share the download link.

You may also take a look at this video tutorial and let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Srishti

Gracias Srishti.
