Problems with Illustrator

I work on a Mac. Illustrator is very "buggy" and slow. When using tools they stick and will not release. So selection of menus or changing tools is almost impossible.

1. Version of OS and Illustrator.

2. Does it happen with a specific tool/action?

3. Do you work on documents saved on a local drive or network?

You may also try resetting the Illustrator preferences once. Please try following the steps on help article

**Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.
