Hi!
I'm trying to automate some stuff with scripting and came across this "problem" whilst trying to:
rasterizeOptions.resolution = 32;
The extendscript editor gives me "specified value less than minimum allowed value"
This is however possible in the dialog box, by selecting "other" you can go as low as 1ppi
Is it any way in the scripting world to get access to this "other" ppi field?
ps. if anyone wondering why on earth I would want to rasterize below 72; I'm dealing with soft meshes and gradients so sharpness doesn't matter.
Thanks!

Did you identify the smallest value you could set error-free in your script ?

Try to use that dynamic action technique and let me know if it works out!

Wow that's really clever, unfortunately for me, in my case I make use of the "boundary" argument in the rasterize function, essentially also cropping the image by a given boundary which can't be done with your method I'm afraid. I think I'll definitely will be using Dynamic Actions for other things though, thanks!

You could try make a clear rectangle around the thing you need rasterized - or do even something like make a clear rectangle and export/embed a PNG from the selection, then re-rasterize to a super-low resolution using the action.

Can you scale down the artwork by a factor, rasterize then scale back up?

Hmm I'll explore the idea. It sound a bit crazy but it might actually work!
