Recover preferences of Illustrator

before Illustrator crached i save my essentials under my name. After i reinstalled AI i lost my essentials

is there any way to recover the essentials that i saved under my name

I understand, you are referring to a custom workspace or a modified default workspace.

Unless you did know how to find those settings and made a copy somewhere elese, when you reinstall an application those settings get lost.

what about symbols, i had my symbols saved before, i used to go symbols/user defined and select it. is there any way i could recover this one.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about your experience. It is always recommended creating preferences(workspaces, tools, shortcuts or other customizations) again if there are chances of corruption. You can create backup though. Please find more information about it on https://www.vektorgarten.de/illustrator-settings.html
