i ask my self how to reduce a 18mb GEOjson in AI, it contains of data which is like cloudds consisting of many points per shape, i thought it is a good idea to use the AI function "Simplify..."? Anybody has an idea how to import, edit and export correctly?

Would be great.

Sounds like you have many vector points, did simplify remove many of them?

Also try Object >> Path >> Cleanup

If you dont need to place into InDesign or After Effects

Fle>> Save as >> turn OFF pdf compatibility

Hi!

By far, the best way that I know is this amazing tool. https://mapshaper.org/
It uses topological algorithms to simplify it respecting the intersections. Plus, it comes with a slider that allows you to choose how much you want to simplify it in %

Hope it helps!
