I have an Illustrator file that has several groups of text that I wish to replace with my own text. Each letter has several layers and has been grouped. I have ungrouped the text but I don't know how to change the text without recreating all the layers that went into creating the opriginal text.

Is there a way to repalce individual letters or complete lines of text?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

You may use a top-quality OCR-application to do that and then transfer the results to Illustrator.

There are at least two applications that usually provide excellent conversions.

You may do a search for them and you will find them, I'm pretty sure.
