Save as dialog not highlighting the text.

I don't know if this is a bug or if there is something on my system that is causing the save as dialog to lose focus.  But when I got to save a new file, sometimes (randomly and not consistently) the text in the save as dialog box will not automatically be highlighted.  This cuts down on my production time somewhat, especially when I start typing the 10 digit part number into the box but since the text wasn't highlighted it didn't get entered.

 

Is there an easy fix for this or am I just being too nitpicky?

I tried resetting the preferences.  It was a big pain in the ass to get the preferences back to the way I like them, but alas, it did not solve the problem.

That's why you'd better not just nuke the preferences, but rename the preferences folder.

 

Which system is it?

Where do you save files?

What else is running?
