Select discrete pieces of text in different text boxes?

Hello,

Is there some way to select discrete pieces of text in different text boxes at the same time? For example, a sentence from text box #1 and then a word from text box #2, etc. In Word or PPT, this would be done by holding down the Ctrl key while making selections, but I've never found a way to do it in Illustrator.

And if this doesn't exist, then consider this a feature request...

This is not possible in Illustrator at the moment.
