Selecting a colour then reverting to a duller version?

Hey everyone, I am trying to change a colour in my design to a bright teal colour but everytime i hit apply it reverts to a duller verison of the colour (greyish blue). How do i fix this??

Are you working in a CMYK document?

Bright RGB colors will be converted to the closest possible color that can be reproduced with CMYK printing inks.
