Selecting full paths with lasso / expanding selection to full paths

Hi,

Is there a way to select full paths using the lasso tool (i.e., select every node of every object that falls at least partially within the drawn area)?

Equivalently, is there a way to expand a selection to full paths (i.e., add to the selection every node of every path for which some nodes are already selected)?

Thanks!

You could create a simple action that contains the Select menu > Inverse command two times.

You may assign a keyboard shortcut to the action.

A long time ago Illustrator had two Lasso tools. A black one and a white one. I think they have been available up to Illustrator 10.

The black Lasso tool did exactly what you are actually looking for without workarounds.

I never understood why the black lasso had been removed. It was useful in many situations.
