The selection tool now selects locked layers? Is this a problem with only my systems, or have i never tried this before?? MAke two boxes, make a clipping mask, lock one box and the clipping mask and attempt to select the unlocked box with the selection tool...all the layers are selected and can be moved. Why? Reported to Adobe last week with no response.

Hi Chris,

Apologies for the delayed response. Do you still have this issue?

I tried to replicate the behavior but I couldn't. Would you mind sharing version of the OS & Adobe Illustrator?

Does it happen with a specific file or all? We'd also appreciate if you can share a small video of your workflow as it'll help us understand the issue better & assist you accordingly.

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,

Ashutosh

Yes I still have the problem, easy to reproduce by;

Create new document,

Draw two overlapping rectangles, then a third around those two

Group the overlapping rectangles, and set the 3rd larger rectangle as clipping mask.

Lock clipping mask and one rectangle

Use Select tool (black arrow) to select and move or distort all (nothing locked)
