SELECTION TOOL TURNS INTO ANCHOR

i need help. when i click the selection tool, it turns into an anchor. how do i bring it back?? i can't adjust my texts because of this. i attached the photo of how it looks like when i click the selection tool.  please help. thanks.

Hi, I think it is selected, but bounding box is not visible. So go to View -> Show Bounding Box
