Is there a way to turn off the automatic selection of a key object when selecting multiple objects?

It's a bug introduced with version 24.2 that should have been fixed with version 24.2.1.

What version are you using?

I'm fully up to date with v24.2.1 but still happens 😞

Did you rebuild the preferences after updating?

No Monika, my preferences haven't changed and I haven't found anything that would affect this.

Does it still happen after you manually choose another align option (align to selection for instance)?

Ahaa! Thank you Doug!
Purely having it on the "align to key object" setting is making it automatically select the top/front object as the key object.
