Hello hello, so i'm trying to make some of these rectangles into shapes using the shape builder tool, so that i can fill them individually with colour, but when i try to do so, it changes the stroke of the rectangle, is it possible to not change it at all? So that it wouldn't look any different until i added colour? The main rectangle is done with the rectangle tool, the rest of the lines are pen tool, any help appreciated, thanks

Thanks for the reply Kurt, could you be a bit more specific? I can't fill these with the live paint tool as they still aren't shapes

There are workarounds, but probably you would be perfectly happy by using Live Paint instead of Shape Builder tool.

Hi,

Select your rectangles, then the Live Paint Bucket and select a color, then just click over any rectangle
