Stroke opacity weirdness

Got a weird little display showing with some stroked paths in Illustrator.

the darker, squiggly, janky lines only show when the path is set to less than 100% opacity. Anyone had similar issues?

Probably a preview problem, try to switch to CPU preview (Cmd or Ctrl E)

True, but this is software for professionals that we now pay for every month. 

Having bug free updates would be nice. Not updating and spinning the wheel on what doesn't work properly this time.
