Thumb image does not match the file

I saved a file on my home PC, but when I open it on my work PC, the file is blank. However, the thumbnail shows the perfect file. This has also happened when I downloaded some files from Shutterstock, for example when I downloaded a file, the thumb seemed to have much more than one object and the file had only one.

The thumbnail is a separate image of the file's content. A file can get corrupted while the thmbnails is still intact.

But since this also happens with stock images, you could either try if the image transfer doesn't work. Or maybe your Illustrator preferences are corrupt. Or maybe you need a computer reboot.

If that all fails as well, then maybe your file has really been hit.
