Im using Transform > Reflect Y to mirror a copy of an opbjects .

The object seems rotated since I can see a colured shape rotated, but its path is not and shows in blue as it was originally. So path and shape are not aligned

Moreover, if im trying to merge the original share and the rotated one, the rotated one comes back to its original orientation ...

Am i doing somethign wrong ? see foto attached .. original image on top

thanks,

 Fabio

Apparently, you are using the Transform effect.

You may select the object, go to the Object menu and execute the Expand Appearance command in order to get what you are looking for.

Or are you looking for something different?

Fabio,

Your Transform Effect window shows that you have selected (by default) 0 Copies, so you get just an image of the transformed shape and the empty selected outline of the original shape. If you want to merge the original with the transformed shape, enter 1 in the Copies field, then Object menu > Expand Appearance. You may want to ungroup if you want to move one or the other of the paths before merging.
