Hi everyone, I have an old logo and do not have permission to recreat the logo. I am trying to make the logo with a transparent background and have been somewhat successful. The letters that have spaces in them are coming up with white background and when I go to remove that white, the letter fills in with the line color (see P in the photo below). How do I get the interior to back trasnparent.

One way:

Select the P including the white area, drag with the Shape builder tool (Shift M) while holding down the Alt key over the white area.

Or select both and choose Object > Compound Path > Make.
