Hamish,

You may create the triangle with the Polygon Tool, bundled with the Rectangle Tool (click and hover till the other tools fly out), then Effect>Stylize>Round Corners; you may Object>Expand Appearance if you wish to have the six anchor points.

Althpough Jacob is correct he did not ask what version of Illustrator you are using.

If you8 are using the current version Illustrator CC then you have another option besides the round corner effect.

That is that now round corners can be created by simply selecting the object with the direct select tool and dragging the inward and the corners willl round dynamically.

Or you doublee clcick the round corner proxy to bring up the corner dialog which iwill give you other options like relative or absolute corners or camphor or concave corners as such.

Allk of whuch can be specifgied numerically or created dynamically.

Thanks for that Wade, I am currently using CS6 on a Windows computer but can't find the corners tool box on there. Is it on this version, if so where will I find it?
