unable to create new file in Illustrator

I can't open a new file on Adobe Illustrator. When I create new file the program goes blank. I can only work on files I already have. I've downloaded Adobe Illustrator again.  But it is still same situation. How do I solve problem? Can you help me?

Please give us information on your computer system and Illustrator version so we can have some more information. With no other documents open, are you able to go to File > New (Ctrl +N) and pull up the New Document dialogue box at all? If so, are you able to set any profiles or sizes? What do you mean by "goes blank"? Does your screen go blank with Illustrator still running or does the program quit altogether? Also, please see the related conversations at the right with some other solutions for similiar problems including how to reset your preferences.

Sorry to hear about this trouble. I agree with the suggestions shared above. You may also try following these steps one by one and let us know how it goes:

• Rename CEP folder to CEP.old from following locations.
  MAC: /Library/Application Support/Adobe 
  Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP
• If that doesn't help, rename extensions to extensions.old folder from
  MAC: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP to extensions.old
  Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\UXP
• If that doesn't help either, uninstall the application using Cleaner tool (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html) and reinstall from the Creative Cloud Desktop app (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/download-install/using/download-creative-cloud-apps.html).

While performing each step, please make sure that all Adobe apps are closed. Feel free to let us know if you still need assistance. We'd be happy to help.
