Unable to move objects in Illustrator

Hi

Whatever I do, my black selector tool isn't able to move any objects by dragging them anymore. Every time I try this, I hear the sound of an error, but I do not get an error message. I can only move objects with the arrows on my keyboard. But this is though very annoying, since I can also not drag a sample into the sample library... I really need this for school. 

Here's what I have already tried: 

- reset preferences

- reinstall Illustrator

- Preferences >> Selection & Anchor Display >>>Uncheck "Object Selection by Path Only".

- All of the layers are unlocked. 

- Tried to contact costumer service, which made me wait for 4 hours before they could take over my computer. Then told me me they are closed and I should come back another time. Yes, I am very frustrated, since this is for my uni assignment, exams and I lost a lot of time waiting for nothing. 

Can someone please tell me how I can resolve this?

Does this happen only in one file?

Do you use a mouse or graphic tablet?

Which system and version is it?

This seems to happen in every file I have or make.

I use a graphic tablet. My teacher has also tried this by taking over my computer, she uses a mouse and it also did not work. 

I have a Lenovo computer, using Microsoft (idk what type where can I find this?), and it's the latest Adobe Illustrator 2021 (it says)...

Can you connect a mouse? Or use the trackpad on the computer?

Yes, indeed. I don't have a mouse near me, but I don't feel like it would help. Trackpad also doesn't work...

So in a new file you cannot select the object?

Or you cannot dragit?

Please make sure the layers panel and also the layer in it is open.
