Unable to open Illustrator Cloud document

I cannot open my project that is saved to the cloud. When I click on the file either nothing will happen or I get a message that says: Error Opening ""

Sorry about the trouble this issue has caused. We've tried to fix this in the latest release. Please update your Illustrator to v 25.1 to get this fixed.

Ok, thank you! Do you have any other suggestions on why this file isn't downloading from the Cloud? 

 

This has really caused me to lose a lot of faith in saving to the cloud. 😕

I have no idea why this gives problems, Cloud documents are a recent development and may have undetected problems.

Personally I use the Creative Cloud Files folder on my Mac when working on important files.

It has the advantage of saving locally and getting synced to  the cloud.

It keeps versions for a certain amount of time, if the local file gets corrupted you can revert to an older version.

It does not have Autosave as the Cloud files, you still have to regularly save yourself.

But even with this syncing to the cloud, I regularly make local backups.
