When I insert a PDF in Illustrator and embed it in the project, it disappears from the Links window not allowing the file to be unbundled. It is possible to unbundle a PDF file on Illustrator. Thank you

Unembed is for images, not for a mixed file format like PDF, which can contain many objects Illustrator does not even understand.
