After my latest Illustrator update (25.2.1) I have noticed that all my previous work and new work where PSD file was placed, the colors have become very dull and faded
My photoshop is 22.3.0
Above is the PSD file as see in Photoshop, whereas below is the one that is placed in Ilustrator.
As you will notice that the colors have really gone faded. I have checked the profile its RGB on both the apps. And my previous work that was orginally showing correct colors is also now showing faded colors. Hence its not the file setting because my old work has the same setting that it had originally.
Anyone has an idea what culd have gone worng ?
There are issues with the color management i the update. It gets reset to "Emulate Illustrator 6".
Can you check if that is the issue with yours as well?

I reverted to Photoshop 22.2 and the colors, when an image was transported to Illustrator, got only slightly better. They still did not come close to the vivid color I saw in the orginal PS document.
I tried a different workaround (on the Illustrator side)... I changed my color mode from RGB to CMYK... the colors instantly became as vibrant as in the PS file. THEN I changed the Illustrator color mode BACK to RGB. And the colors remained vibrant.
In summary, my workaround in Illustrator:
1) Change the color mode from RGB to CMYK
2) Change the color mode back from CMYK to RGB
Hope that works for your situation.

Sorry, bad advice
Converting from RGB to CMYK and back again destroys colors.
