White spaces filled in with Black

Anyone else having this issue and know a fix for it? When I opened the file, all is well. Then when I zoomed in (either with mouse, magnify glass or the keyboard), it filled in all white spots with black. I've had this happen with a few other files.

I've uninstalled Illustrator and reinstalled (without saving preferences). I tried closing the file and reopening. I also tried quitting Illustrator and reopening. Still having the same issue. Thanks for the help!

Does switching to CPU Preview make a difference? (Cmd or Ctrl E)

Ahh yep! That worked. I reinstalled Illustrator and that seemed to fix it for a bit, but then it came back. It seems to be in relation to taking off the recently used fonts in the preferences.
