Zoom tool & Curvature tool not working

After updating to Illustrator v 25.2.1 my Zoom tool does not zoom if click and hold, it only allows me to create the "area" in which i want to zoom into. 

Also, the curvature tool is not working in terms on double clicking to switch to a point anchor or back to a curved anchor... It is ALSO not completing the shape... So if I am creating a shape w curvature tool I can't close it by clicking on the initial anchorpoint. 

I have also had many issues with color settings in this new version as I have seen many users have.

Did you reset the preferences when updating?
