Wondering if we have to buy an older Mac to be able to continue using InCopy CS5.

No. Both parties need to be on the same version.

I can’t possibly be more clear about this. And it’s important to note that CS5 is not likely to work on any new hardware or operating system.

Also worth noting that InCopy CC is only $5.00/month for when the time comes to upgrade.

Yes, but be aware that the InDesign users will have to be using CS5 as well.

So just to be clear, my situation is this:

The art directors are still using InDesign CS5, not using Creative Cloud.

An editor wants to upgrade to the newest version of InCopy, which is part of Creative Cloud.

Can they still work together?

Sorry for being longwinded, but I wanted to be sure. Thanks!

Thanks for clarifying. That's our problem. We can't currently afford to upgrade the entire company. It would be many thousands of dollars, so we can't budget that until next year at the earliest. I guess until then, this editor will have to be given an older machine so she can run CS5. Thanks, Bob!
