Hello!
I work for an advertising agency and we use InDesign and work together with a client who makes their changes in InCopy.
But it seems like the most essential feature is not working properly. We want to work simultaneous at the project, but the "check out" function is not updating between InDesing and InCopy which leads to the fact that both users can edit the same textframe or pictures and overwrite themself.
We are all using the lastest Updates of InDesign/InCopy 2020 and our files are all in a shared Creative Cloud folder. Normally we work on Macs and our Client on Windows. But we tested all combinations (Mac-Mac, Mac-Windows, Windows-Windows) and it seems nothing is working.
We spoke to the support, but they haven't found a solution yet...
Thanks in advance
Lars

I recommend OneDrive or Dropbox over Creative Cloud storage.

Thanks for your reply and recommendation!
I'm gonna test this for sure, but actually we would like to stay in one "universe" … shouldn't the Creative Cloud storage work better with the Adobe Programms then third-party clouds...?
So if there is another tip how this feature could work i would really appreciate it.

OneDrive isn't working either … and using Dropbox is no possibility for our client. (but not tested either)

Is everyone fully sharing that folder? In Onedrive the person who has it shared with them has to physically add it to their own Onedrive and you should make sure you turn off smart sync so all files are fully synced to each person's local harddrive.

Yes all files are synced to the personal local harddrive.

No we're using the normal OneDrive (with a Free-Plan)
By the way: Everything syncs perfectly after a few seconds on all devices. (Pictures etc.).
