Feature request: track changes in footnotes (InCopy & InDesign)

I learned today that neither inDesign nor inCopy allow for changes in footnotes to be tracked. I searched this forum and other places and just couldn't make any sense out of it. So, why the hell can't I track changes in footnotes? And why can't I comment either? Footnotes often are an integral part of a book containing full sentences, so why not treat them like normal content when it comes to tracking?? I just don't get it… please, will someone hear me and add this in a new version!?

(if someone has found a workaround, please let me know, too - thx)

You could anchor a text frame in the footnote.
