Hi,

I have a 188 page document

The document is not finished yet, maybe anithre 200 plus pages, but I want to see the Index thus far so have just finished Indexing it all.

I had to add a page at the end of the doc so I could place the Index there assuming it would create as many pages as the Index required but it is only showing the first page of the Index.

How do I get the Index to show all its pages?

Also It is showing say 124-188  and I only want the actual page number not the last page (188).

Is it possible to generate the Index as a seperate document?

Thank you

There's so many answers and so many more questions to your query - I don't know where to begin.

I decided maybe it's better to direct you to the Adobe Help file

https://helpx.adobe.com/ie/indesign/using/creating-index.html#:~:text=You%20can%20create%20only%20on....

It goes through the process - other than that - I have never generated an Index with InDesign.
I've always outsourced the Indexing to professional indexers to generate.

There are some seasoned experts on the forums - maybe they have a good idea for you.
