Since updating to InDesign 20.4.1 the other day I'm getting very, very long save times involving the colourful beachball of woe. How can I, and is it safe to revert to a previous version?

I've found some info on how to do this, but don't know the lowdown on whether it's 'safe' to do so on minor versions. Seems I was using the wrong search terms. Anyway, strangely, I couldn't delete this post, or I probably would have. If the 'rules' around 'downgrading/reverting' to previous minor versions are succinct and understandable, please elt me know. For the moment I'm assuming that the fact that you can easily (all be it in a not terribly easy to find location) restore to a previous version, means it won't cause horrifying results.

Hi @MrZZY,
Thanks for sharing this, and totally get how frustrating long save times with the beachball can be. Could you confirm the version of macOS you're using?
Also, when exactly does the beachball appear, is it at launch, when saving a file, or while using a particular tool or effect?
While staying on 20.4.1 for now, could you test the behavior in Safe Mode and also from a new local admin user profile to help us rule out any third-party conflicts or user-specific issues? You can refer to these Apple articles for guidance:

Additionally, could you please confirm if the issue you're facing is similar to what’s being discussed in this thread?

If possible, it would be super helpful if you could share a short screen recording showing your steps leading up to the beachball. That will really help us troubleshoot this better.
Looking forward to your update!
Abhishek
