HI,
I have completed my PhD thesis as EPUB. It works well on iBooks.
Unfortunately, the Navigation TOC (i.e. left hand TOC pane) doesn't work in Adobe Digital Editions - none of the links are clickable. This all works fine in iBooks.
One time I did get a message that "The bookmark feature only works when the book is open from the library" - but I've added the EPUB to my library and it still doesn't work.
Any ideas?

Hi,
Did you make a ePUB FXL or reflowable? Because ADE doesn't have a full support to ePUB FXL.
Should you try this reader for ePUB FXL - Download AZARDI - AZARDI@IGP
If you export a reflowable send me the ePUB file and I can check it.
Regards

Thanks for the info.
This EPUB is fixed layout. I'm surprised ADE doesn't fully support this format.

I don't think ADE has been updated in years. I thought Adobe was going to retire it all together.
Have you also tried the Kindle export plugin?

The problem is that my client use ADE to control if my work is ok or not. They don't want to change the reader. So I have a big problem. Because the epub works perfectly in iBooks.

ADE is the pits. It's OK for some really basic flowed EPUBs, but that's it.
See how your EPUB looks in Thorum Reader. If it looks OK, show your client the difference between readers.

I have the same problem, and we are in 2021. Have this a solution?

Nope, ADE is still a complete mess for fixed layout interactive epubs. On Apple platforms, rely on their native ebook reader, and on Windows only Thorium is a viable option, which must be installed separately by the end user.
