Huzzah! I finally got the 18.3 update today, and lo and behold; when I clicked on one of the InDesign layout files I worked on yesterday (after the MacOS verified the updated InDesign app) a Finder preview appeared, clear as day! Thanks Adobe!

If you don't want to see the preview, then turn OFF the save preview in the preference window when you are saving the files.

Yes, I have it turned off, and therefore if it is turned off, the application icon should appear, but instead a message appears that you have turned off document previews. The way it is set up today is wrong and Adobe undermines the entire product with each version, and Apple with its new systems is racing to see who can screw it up more. The latest versions have once again destroyed the keyboard shortcuts for non-English keyboard users. Such errors are not user errors but poorly done work by Adobe/Apple. And we pay for it...
