Hi

I would like to build a pop-up windows on InDesign exactly like the ones deployed on Wikiwand.

For samples, please go to link below and click wherever there is wwords in blue. You will see the nice pop-up they built with drop-shadows around. Unbeatable! I need one like that. May I ask your help?

https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Sound_Blaster_X-Fi

Also, is it possible to select the content of the pop-ip windows for printing?

Thank you in advance.

What you want is a website or an app. InDesign will not be the proper tool for this task.

I am just after the pop-up design to use on a Interactive PDF, nothing beyond that.

So, that pop-up design (made on InDesign) would a similar box as in Wikiwand with the drop-shadow, which will then be used on a Interactive PDF, simple.

For PDF? Forget it! You'll never get this work all over. You might get it to work with show/hide fields in Acrobat or Reader but even there, it's a crapshoot once you add too many of them.

For epub or publish online you could try a multi-state object.

I would still like to give it a try, though.

I would like to amend my original question by clarifying that what I am asking for is the design of that pop-up made on InDesign so I can deploy it on an Interactive PDF.

Thanks in advance.

Use another format, not PDF. For example have a look at InDesign's Publish Online. If you know InDesign it's easy to produce such interactive content and it can be read on any device – PC, Mac, Tablet or Smart Phone.

Drop Shadow and other effects are accessed in InDesign via: Object  > Effects

Another issue for me with Publish Online is that this feature is not free.
