Aliasses on OSX-server greyed out.

We noticed when trying to place a file in Indesign 2018 that is 'behind' a folder-alias on an OSX-server 5.2 (Sierra 10.12.3) the alias is greyed out, so not possible to click on. We think that it begun after installing High Sierra 10.13.2 on our workstations.

- Aliasses on the iMacs desktop still work

- Even an alias on the desktop made from the grey alias on the server work...

More people with the same problem?

Is it a MacOS or Indesign problem?

Same issue with both folder-alias and file-alias grayed out from within the "place" dialogue of InDesign (CC 13.1). The alias files are located on the same local drive, which is not on a server. Confirmed that the alias links are not broken.

Hello,
is there already a solution to this? I have the same problem: Mac Big Sure 11.5.2 and Indesign 16.4.

It's a MacOS problem, not an Adobe one. This occurs in any dialogue box when trying to access an alias on a server through MacOS High Sierra or higher. Adobe has suggested copying the alias to your desktop as a workaround.

Hi,

but why can I access "Alias" in "Alias" with Openoffice or other Programms (TextEdit)? There it worked like before.
